Expert Witness

The Third Judicial Circuit contracts with expert witnesses to provide adult and juvenile competency evaluations, and to serve as members on guardianship and developmental disability examining committees. In compliance with Supreme Court Order AOSC2017-12, the Third Judicial Circuit has established an expert witness registry from which the Court shall appoint. Additionally, Administrative Order 2017-003 outlines the allowable rates mandated in AOSC2017-12 for expert payments paid for by the Court.

In order to be added to the Third Judicial Circuit Expert Registry, interested parties must submit an application (instructions on application) and complete the contract process.

Please do not call the Court expecting to speak with a judge about any case. The Court is only allowed to consider evidence and arguments made in the courtroom and in documents properly filed by actual parties in the case as authorized by law and the Rules of Court. The Court cannot ethically read or consider any other evidence or arguments about the case. Ex parte communications also applies to the General Magistrate & Hearing Officers.
