PARENTING COURSE INFORMATION

Pursuant to Florida Statue 61.21, all divorcing parents, as well as parents involved in a paternity action, must complete a parenting class. The class offers guidance for making the best choices for the children during this stressful time.

The providers are approved by the Department of Children and Families to offer local Parent Education and Family Stabilization courses in the State of Florida. The courses are a minimum of 4 hours and are designed to educate, train, and assist divorcing parents in regards to the impact of divorce on parents and children, as required by Florida Statute 61.21. Both parents must take the course. If you have not successfully completed the course prior to your final hearing, your case may be continued until the class is completed. Once you have completed the course you will be given a certificate. A copy must be filed in the Court file prior to the final hearing.
